Welcome. I am a second-year doctoral student in Iowa State's Rhetoric and Professional Communication program.

Some days I believe that one worthy writer can inspire her audience toward positive actions and perhaps even rescue the world. Other days tend to fragment my idealism.

Regardless, two stabilizing beliefs keep me here: 1) Rhetoric and poetry really aren't that different, and 2) every so often I write or say something that matters.

My current research interests include:

• articulation of knowledge, agency, and space in non-dominant groups
• bricolage in postmodern theory and design
• foucault and bourdieu
• communication across the curriculum (CAC)
